Guano Accumulation
One of the most noticeable issues caused by bats is the accumulation of guano (bat droppings). This can lead to:
- Staining and Corrosion: Bat guano can stain walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. Over time, the acidic nature of guano can corrode building materials, including wood and metal.
- Insulation Damage: Bats often roost in attics, where their droppings can accumulate in insulation. This reduces the insulation’s effectiveness and can lead to increased energy costs
