This is the carcass of a deceased opossum that was in a crawl space of a home in Studio City. The stench was horrendous but I was able to remove it and treat the area where it was located. I was glad that I didn’t have to cut it out of the floor. If the odor is coming from the bathroom, then most of the time it’s going to be an opossum. Opossums always seem to get into the subfloor under the bathtub and can never find their way out. This guy was laying in the corner (always the farthest corner from the crawl space opening). I was in and out in no time. I also found the entry point that it used to access the crawl space and sealed that up after I removed the dead animal and made sure that there were no other occupants in the crawl space. If you think you have a dead animal under your home, chances are that you absolutely do. There is no mistaking the odor of decomposition.
