R-value restoration
Once insulation has been tunnelled through, compressed and soaked with urine, it stops working. You cannot disinfect it in place and you cannot fluff it back to R-value. It comes out.
We vacuum contaminated material out with a commercial HEPA system into sealed bags, decontaminate the deck beneath it, then blow in new insulation to the depth California Title 24 requires, generally R-38 in SoCal climate zones, about 12 to 14 inches. Depth markers go in so the result is verifiable, not a claim.
